August is the month of Mestre Camisa's event, all of you know this. Always lots of training, Batizado, Games, 'Aulão' at Copacabana beach and lots of energy. Although this year, those who were present are testimony that this event was a special one. During the week, classes were held at CEMB, near to nature, reminding all of the value of simplicity, of things that are lost and forgotten in the hustle and bustle of large cities. Classes of capoeira, instruments, percussion and folcloric dances; cultural discussions and friendly conversations were held during this week. Every evening, always something different: On Tuesday: an evening walk around the farm grounds; Wednesday and Thursday: classifications for the World Games for those that wanted to qualify for the last openings available for  the competition; Yet still on Thursday: 'Noite de Cantadores' (Singer's night), with some of the best singers of Abadá-capoeira performing their songs, both old and new; On Friday: the first round of the eliminatory games of Abadá-Capoeira World Games.

Saturday the event was moved to Rio de Janeiro for Mestre Camisa's Batizado and the World Games finals. First the Batizado, that began as a normal Batizado, but the celebration's emotion was saved tot he end, various new professors were graduated, setting the tone for the celebration that did not stop there, the best was yet to come. Two new Mestrandos were graduated - Mestrando Piriquito Verde and Mestrando Montanha; and two new Mestres were recognized - Mestre Morcego and Mestre Charm. The event's emotion took hold of everyone, tears, hugs and smiles between some, families and friends celebrating the victory, sharing a moment and joining the ritual that represents the path that they took during many long years of dedication to capoeira and the perspective of the long road ahead. Congratulations to the new Mestrandos and Mestres.

After the Batizado, the World Games finals began. It was an intense roda with games that rose the public from their seats. The results of the games can be seen below.

Sunday, keeping in tradition, the event was closed with an 'aulão' at Copacabana beach. Batala, the persussion band, openend the event, and following immediately, a collective of thousands of capoeirstas began stretching along the avenue, afterwards several rodas were formed for those who wanted to play and at the end, the World Games winners were presented to the public. During the aulão, a coreography was made to represent the campaign of awareness of protection of forests, and finally the event was closed with, again, the samba reggae band, Batala.

Finally, and importantly, the students of Abadá-capoeira DC would like to extend a warm, sincere and heartfelt congratulations to our Professora Yara, who received her brown corda at Mestre Camisa's batizado.
